THE NEW OPEN-AIR MERCEDES-AMG GT S ROADSTER

Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster 01

In time for the spring, Mercedes-AMG is extending its sports car portfolio with the new AMG GT S Roadster as an attractive open-air model. With this latest addition the AMG GT family now has a dozen members: four two-door Coupés, three Roadsters, two customer sports racing cars and three four-door Coupés. The basis for the high Driving Performance of the new AMG GT S Roadster is the combination of a lightweight aluminium spaceframe, a V8 biturbo engine, a seven-speed dual clutch transmission, a rear axle locking differential and a sport suspension with aluminium double wishbone axles.

Compared to the AMG GT Roadster, the AMG GT S Roadster is rendered even more dynamic by numerous modifications to the engine, suspension, brakes, design and interior. This positions it between the AMG GT Roadster and the even more powerful AMG GT C Roadster, now providing a choice of three open-top two-seaters.

Der neue Mercedes-AMG GT S Roadster: Open-Air-Zuwachs für die AMG GT Familie

The AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo in the AMG GT S Roadster delivers an output of 384 kW (522 hp) and maximum torque of 670 Nm. This is available over a wide engine speed range from 1900 to 5000 rpm. The eight-cylinder power unit delivers muscular performance in all engine speed ranges, combined with high efficiency for low fuel consumption and emission levels. A sprint from standstill to 100 km/h is absolved in 3.8 seconds. The dynamic power delivery continues right up to the top speed of 308 km/h.

The sales start date for the new Mercedes-AMG GT S Roadster is available to order with immediate effect. The market launch starts from July 2018.

World Premiere : Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster

AMG GT C Roadster

Tune in as the all new Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster celebrates its world premiere in Paris on the eve of the Mondial de l’Automobile 2016. Tobias Moers, Chairman of the Management Board Mercedes-AMG, will present the open two-seater complementing the ever growing AMG GT family.

AMG GT C Roadster

Alongside the AMG GT Roadster*, the AMG GT C Roadster* enhances the portfolio with a completely new model variant. With an output of 410 kW (557 hp) and peak torque of 680 Nm, the AMG GT C is the most powerful new Roadster variant and uses some of the technical refinements of the AMG GT R. These include active rear axle steering and the electronically controlled rear axle locking differential. In combination with the AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension, the AMG GT C Roadster guarantees dynamic performance at the highest level.

AMG GT C Roadster

The top Roadster also takes its lead from the top AMG GT R sports car where muscular proportions are concerned: the wider rear wings create space for a wider track and wider wheels at the rear axle, allowing even higher cornering speeds and best traction. The variable performance exhaust system also ensures an authentic V8 sound from the AMG Roadster.

The New Dynamic TT RS Coupé and TT RS Roadster

audi-tt-rs-coupe-and-convertible

Audi is sending the most powerful TT ever into the competitive field. Its newly developed five-cylinder engine delivers 400 hp – accompanied by an unmistakable sound. Driving pleasure guaranteed!

Muscular front end, large air inlets, low-positioned spoiler, fixed rear wing – at first glance, the Audi TT RS* clearly hints at just how much power there is under its streamlined skin. Its new five-cylinder aluminum engine delivers 400 hp, which is 60 more than the power of the previous model.

A full 480 Nm (354.0 lb-ft) of torque is applied to the front and rear wheels, and a traction control system manages its distribution for maximum acceleration with minimal slip. As a result, the Coupé takes 3.7 seconds to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph), and the Roadster takes 3.9 seconds. No other TT has sprinted this fast.

The brilliant torque is accompanied by typical five-cylinder sound – which is music to the ears of horsepower purists. This sound passes through the RS exhaust system and is projected to the surroundings via two large oval tailpipes. Other eye-catching features at the rear are the new Matrix OLED lights in 3D design, which are being implemented for the first time in a production Audi.

No matter how intensively the driver turns the grippy sport steering wheel, the low-mounted sport seat with the strong contours of its side bolsters holds the driver in position. In the Roadster, a switch initiates open-air driving fun. It opens the car’s soft top – even while driving at speeds up to around 50 km/h (31.1 mph).

Inside, the TT RS has an extremely sporty appearance – with aluminum or carbon trim elements and RS logos. As in the Audi R8, the driver starts the engine directly from the steering wheel – a feature inspired by motorsport.

The dynamic handling system can also be operated from an extra set of satellite controls. If drivers wish, they can modify the character of the TT RS over four modes – from comfort-oriented to decidedly dynamic. The instruments are focused entirely on the driver. The fully digital Audi virtual cockpit with its 12.3-inch screen bundles all key information – from driving speed to engine rpm and navigation. And that is not all.

A special RS screen displays information on tire pressure, torque and g-forces. When a defined engine speed is reached, the colored background of the scale prompts the driver to upshift via the steering wheel paddle or selector lever.

Audi TT RS Coupé

To always stay up-to-date, the driver can call upon the extensive infotainment content. Audi connect brings a wide variety of services on-board that can deliver the right information – whether you are looking for parking, travel or traffic information, or inquiring about fuel prices, the weather or online news. Passengers can also tweet on the road, and upon request the system can read the messages aloud. They can connect their smartphone or tablet via the Wi-Fi hotspot and surf the world wide web.

Prices for the Coupé start at 66,400 euros, and the Roadster is listed at 69,200 euros.

Lamborghini Centenario Roadster 05

Following the introduction of the Centenario Coupé, Lamborghini unveils the open version of its latest one-off creation to fervent collectors and enthusiasts at Montere Car Week in California in occasion of the event ‘‘The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering’’. A natural successor to its coupé counterpart, the Centenario Roadster is also limited to 20 units worldwide and represents a true illustration of Lamborghini’s commitment to advance automotive design to new, inspirational heights.

The Italian icon continues to honor the centenary of its dynamic founder, Ferruccio Lamborghini, with this special commemorative series. The prominent profile of the rear wheel arch accentuates the Centenario’s rear-wheel steering. Pirelli PZero tyres, developed specifically for rear-wheel steering, sit on exclusive 20’’/21’’ front/rear rims in forged and milled aluminium. The spokes’ fan shape, accented in carbon fibre, mask ducts extracting hot air from the carbon ceramic brakes, finished with a centrallocking wheel nut sporting the Lamborghini shield.

Lamborghini Centenario Roadster

The highly responsive V12 architecture delivers 770 hp (566 kW) with an engine speed regulator raised from 8,350 rpm to 8,600 rpm. Accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds the Centenario Roadster’s top speed is more than 350 km/h. Braking distance is equally impressive: from 100-0 km/h in just 31 m (102 feet).

Just as the Coupé version the Centenario Roadster will be produced as a limited edition of only 20 units to be delivered through 2017. All 40 Centenario models are sold, to collectors and Lamborghini enthusiasts around the world at a starting price of 1.75 million euros for the Coupé and 2 million euros plus tax for the Roadster.

Shown in Monterey in the special exterior color, called ‘‘Argento Centenario’’, clients can specify their Centenario to include any colour and finish, such as exposed carbon fiber from Lamborghini’s Ad Personam personalisation programme. The Centenario continues Lamborghini’s strategy of producing one-off cars and exclusive limited editions, which allow scope for exploring design and technology possibilities while heightening brand awareness.

Vantage-GT12-Roadster_01-NEWS

Aston Martin unveiled its most extreme roadster ever in the unique form of the one-off Vantage GT12 Roadster. A tailor made customer commission undertaken by Q by Aston Martin, the Vantage GT12 Roadster takes the original Vantage GT12 Coupe’s hardcore ethos and adds the visceral thrill of open-top driving, offering the driver an intensified sensation of exhilaration and the unfiltered fury of a 600PS V12 soundtrack.

Conceived and delivered within a nine-month period, the Vantage GT12 Roadster draws its origins from the Vantage GT12 Coupe, with a special 600PS version of the brand’s 6.0-litre normally aspirated V12 engine mated to a seven-speed Sportshift IIItm paddle-shift transmission. Porsche 718 Boxster : The New Mid-Engine Roadster

718 Boxster S

The first Boxster made its debut 20 years ago and now Porsche is restructuring its mid-engine roadsters. The designation for the new generation of models is 718 Boxster and 718 Boxster S. The two-seat convertibles are now more powerful yet more fuel efficient. With them, Porsche continues the tradition of the four-cylinder flat engines that were used in the Porsche 718 mid-engine sports cars that won numerous races back in the 1950s and 1960s, among them being the legendary Targa Florio and Le Mans.

The centrepiece of the new model series is the newly developed four-cylinder flat engine with turbocharging. The 718 Boxster develops 220 kW (300 hp) of power from two litres of engine displacement, while the 718 Boxster S attains 257 kW (350 hp) from 2.5 litres of displacement. In the S-model, Porsche also uses a turbocharger with variable turbine geometry.

Porsche is now the only manufacturer to offer VTG technology in production cars with petrol-driven engines, both in the 911 Turbo and in the 718 Boxster S. Impressive here are the considerable power gain of 26 kW (35 hp) compared to the previous Boxster models and the efficiency of the new turbo engines. The new 718 Boxster models have fuel economy improvements of up to 13 per cent.

Porsche 718 Boxter , 718 Boxter S

The completely new chassis tuning and stronger brakes provide for passionate and sporty driving pleasure. The design of the new model line was also comprehensively advanced. The navigation module is available as an option.

The new 718 Boxster models sprint even faster. The 718 Boxster – with PDK and the Sport Chrono Package – sprints from zero to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds (0.8 seconds faster). The 718 Boxster S with the same equipment completes this discipline in 4.2 seconds (0.6 seconds faster). The top speed of the 718 Boxster is 275 km/h, and the 718 Boxster S has a top speed of 285 km/h. The 718 models come with a six-speed manual transmission as standard. The Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK), which now features fuel-saving virtual gears, is available as an option.

The market launch of the new mid-engine sports car begins on April 30 in Europe. 718 Boxster pricing starts at 53,646 euros in Germany, and the 718 Boxster S from 66,141 euros, each with country-specific features and including VAT.
