The urban SUV, the ŠKODA KAMIQ, is celebrating its world premiere on 23 April at the ŠKODA International Media Workshop at the Czech Embassy in Beijing. Following on from the ŠKODA KODIAQ and the ŠKODA KAROQ, the new SUV is to become the third member of the ŠKODA SUV family. The KAMIQ is rigorously continuing the powerful ŠKODA SUV design language and impresses with modern technology and an expressive design. Immediately after the world premiere, ŠKODA will present the KAMIQ to the public at the ‘Auto China 2018’, which will take place from 25 April to 4 May in Beijing. The urban SUV will be launched onto the market only a couple of months after the motor show.

The new ŠKODA KAMIQ combines compact dimensions and a surprisingly spacious interior. The body is 4,390 mm long, 1,781 mm wide and 1,593 mm high. The wheelbase is 2,610 mm. The car is equipped with an all-new 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces a power output of 81 kW and torque of up to 150 Nm. The engine’s power is transmitted via an automatic gearbox. The KAMIQ’s design comes with all the features of ŠKODA’s powerful SUV design language. The typical radiator grille with its vertical double slats is an unmistakeable expression of ŠKODA’s DNA. Lines in the crystalline headlights flow into the lines of the grille, lending the KAMIQ a bold appearance. The precise, sharply cut tornado line gives a three-dimensional look and, together with the 17-inch double five-spoke alloy wheels, creates a sporty side view. The crystalline tail lights are positioned horizontally. This and the outward position of the reflectors make the SUV appear wider.

Škoda Octavia RS 245 – Premiere of the High-Performance Sportster in Geneva

Please fasten your seatbelts: the most powerful ŠKODA OCTAVIA in the company’s history is on its way. The new ŠKODA OCTAVIA RS 245 delivers 180 kW (245 PS) – this is 11 kW (15 PS) more than the previous top-of-the-range RS variant had to offer. The powerful engine and innovative chassis technology including the electronically regulated VAQ limited-slip differential offer the ultimate driving experience.

The powerhouse is available as a hatchback or an estate and will be celebrating its world premiere at the 87th International Motor Show in Geneva. The compact sports car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds (Combi: 6.7 seconds); its top speed is limited to 250 km/h. As is usual for a ŠKODA, the car features a spacious interior and luggage compartment. In addition, the latest driver assistance systems are also available for the ŠKODA OCTAVIA RS 245.

Using the infotainment system, the occupants can be ‘always online’ thanks to the optional Wi-Fi hotspot and LTE module. Numerous ‘Simply Clever’ features are further testimony to the compact car’s practical talents.

Škoda Octavia RS : The Fastest Series-Production Czech Model

Just weeks after introducing the extensively modernized ŠKODA OCTAVIA, the Czech automobile manufacturer presents the top model in the series – the ŠKODA OCTAVIA RS. The new front section, modified rear and sporty interior Ambient highlight its dynamic character.

The upgraded ŠKODA OCTAVIA RS is available as a saloon and estate. Both body styles have two four-cylinder engines to choose from. While the 2.0 TDI diesel engine has the same 135 kW (184 hp) output as previously, the performance of the 2.0 TSI petrol engine has increased by 7 kW (10 hp) to 169 kW (230 hp), making it the strongest and fastest series-production model in the history of the ŠKODA OCTAVIA. New premium technologies supporting infotainment, connectivity and driver assistance systems emphasise the exceptional position of the compact sports car in its segment.

The appearance of the new ŠKODA OCTAVIA RS accentuates the extensively redeveloped design of the series in a particularly sporty and emotional way: The new front section with a wider radiator grille, which has been extended with additional headlamps featuring a crystalline look, and the even wider air intakes with honeycomb structure in the redesigned bumpers are masculine and dynamic. The four full-LED headlights with Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS), as well as the LED side-mounted headlights integrated into the bumper shape the new front end. At the rear, the saloon’s spoiler and the estate’s roof spoiler set independent accents.

The rear is dominated by a powerful black diffuser element and broad red reflector lamp above. These elements are unmistakable characteristics of the upgraded ŠKODA OCTAVIA RS. In addition, the model now features LED-technology license plate illumination and taillights in the classic C-design as standard.

The interior of the new ŠKODA OCTAVIA RS is characterized by the sporty black interior. The RS-Sport seats provide plenty of lateral support thanks to high sides and integrated headrests. In addition to the leather/fabric combination, the sports seats are now also available in an Alcantara version. The multi-function sports steering wheel (for DSG gearbox with shift paddles) has a perforated leather crown. Ambient lighting comes as standard. The recesses of the door handles are illuminated, the pedals shine in an aluminium finish, and the entry panels bear the RS logo. ŠKODA-typical ‘Simply-Clever’ solutions include an umbrella under the passenger seat and a removable LED lamp in the boot of the estate.

The New Škoda KODIAQ From Early 2017

 

skoda-kodiaq-05With a length of 4.70 m, up to seven seats and the largest boot within its class, the ŠKODA KODIAQ is the Czech car manufacturer’s first large SUV. From early 2017, ŠKODA’s latest model will present itself with all of the brand’s strengths: a design that is full of character, extraordinary interior space, practical intelligence and innovative technology that can otherwise only be found in higher vehicle classes.

The new Škoda KODIAQ is at the upper end of the compact car segment. It is 4,697 mm long, 1,882 mm wide and 1,676 mm tall (including roof rails); its wheelbase measures 2,791 mm. The KODIAQ is based on Volkswagen Group’s modular transverse matrix (MQB) in which strict lightweight construction plays an important role.

With the entry-level TSI engine and front-wheel drive, the large SUV weighs just 1,427 kg when empty (without driver), or 1,535 kg with the 1.4 TSI engine and all-wheel drive. The amount of space is typical of ŠKODA: the ŠKODA KODIAQ is just 38 mm longer than the ŠKODA OCTAVIA, but offers a larger-than-average interior for the SUV segment.

The large SUV’s interior length is 1,793 mm; elbow room is 1,527 mm in the front and 1,510 mm in the rear. Head room is 1,020 mm in the front and 1,014 mm in the rear. Rear legroom measures up to 104 mm.

With a volume of 720 to 2,065 l (with the rear seats folded down), the ŠKODA KODIAQ offers the largest boot within its class. An electrically operated tailgate is available as an option, and can – as an additional optional extra – also be opened and closed using foot gesture command or a button in the interior.

Front Assist including City Emergency Brake comes as standard and is active up to 34 km/h. Predictive Pedestrian Protection complements Front Assist. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is also radar assisted and helps the driver to maintain the selected speed and the desired gap between the ŠKODA KODIAQ and the vehicle in front. Lane Assist, Blind Spot Detect and Rear Traffic Alert help the driver to stay in lane. If the car is fitted with Lane Assist, ACC and DSG transmission, Traffic Jam Assist comes as an additional function. It maintains speed and applies the brakes in slow-moving traffic. Additionally, the car will be kept in lane up to speeds of 60 km/h thanks to the Lane Assist function. Driver Alert detects signs of fatigue in the driver and prompts the driver to take a break.

With the new, groundbreaking and innovative mobile online services, ŠKODA presents a new dimension of navigation, information and entertainment. At the same time, ŠKODA Connect helps with remote access to the vehicle as well as assistance.

Five powertrains, two TDI and three TSI engines, make up the engine range at the launch of the ŠKODA KODIAQ. They have capacities of 1.4 and 2.0 l, and power output ranges from 92 kW (125 PS) to 140 kW (190 PS). The diesel and petrol engines feature turbocharged direct injection and fulfil EU6 emission standards. All engines also feature a Stop-Start system, brake energy recovery and a powerful thermo-management system, contributing to low consumption despite the mighty power delivery.

The ŠKODA KODIAQ is available with various different transmissions. Depending on the engine, there is a 6-speed manual gearbox or DSG transmissions with six or seven speeds. The new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission is making its debut at ŠKODA and Off-road mode can be selected by the simple touch of a button (optional for the all-wheel-drive versions in combination with Driving Mode Select). In off-road mode, Hill Descent Assist helps the driver to safely master driving downhill over rough terrain by braking appropriately.

Škoda Octavia in New Top Form

Škoda has made major revisions to the bestseller Octavia, available from the end of the year with a newly designed front and rear section, state-of-the-art driver assistance solutions, infotainment and connectivity, as well as new equipment. The compact model is presented in top form as both a saloon and estate, and once again highlights its unique position in the category.

The lines of the new ŠKODA OCTAVIA have been further streamlined, especially at the front. The two adjacent headlights form the dual face with a crystalline look. On request, they shine in full-LED technology. The brand logo has gained even more presence, the front is more powerful, wider, and has more character.

The space available in the revised ŠKODA OCTAVIA remains one of the largest in its class. Both the saloon and estate offer 1782 millimetres of interior space and 73 millimetres of legroom in the rear. Their luggage compartments measure 590 and 610 litres, respectively; with folded rear seat backrests up to 1580 and 1740 litres respectively. There is an optional electric tailgate available for OCTAVIA COMBI.

The revised ŠKODA OCTAVIA also offers state-of-the-art solutions for connectivity. ŠKODA Connect is divided into Infotainment Online and CareConnect. CareConnect is available in all equipment variants (except G-TEC) of the revised ŠKODA OCTAVIA.

Škoda Octavia assistance systems – with technologies that have so far only been used in the mid-class. If the OCTAVIA is used as a towing vehicle, the trailer assistant will take over the steering when the vehicle is slowly reversing. . Predictive pedestrian protection complements Front Assist. In addition, the parking assistant has been further optimized. Thanks to the rear radar, Blind Spot Detection and Rear Traffic Alert ensure safe lane changes and also help while reversing out of a parking space. The rear-view camera displays the car’s immediate surroundings on the on-board monitor.

Octavia’s numerous ‘Simply Clever’ solutions include a customizable key, allowing multiple users to save their own vehicle settings, as well as a heated steering wheel, folding tables on the back of the front seats, bottle holders which facilitate the opening of PET bottles, and the estate version features a removable torch in the boot.

The five TSI and four TDI that make up the engine programme combine strong performance with low fuel consumption. Their displacements range from 1.0 to 2.0 litres, the output range begins at 63 kW (84 hp) and ends at 135 kW (184 hp). For almost all engines in the revised ŠKODA OCTAVIA, a DSG transmission with six or seven gears is available in addition to manual transmission. ŠKODA supplies all-wheel drive 4×4 for the 1.8 l TSI and the 2.0 l TDI. A highlight in the chassis is the optional Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC), which enables the driver to regulate the steering and damping characteristics in the Comfort, Normal and Sport modes. The light alloy wheels range from 16 to 18 inches and come in numerous new designs.

The revised ŠKODA OCTAVIA saloon and estate version will be available in the first markets from the end of the year. Deliveries will begin in early 2017.

At the Paris Motor Show, the ŠKODA KODIAQ had its international motor show premiere yesterday during ŠKODA’s press conference. ŠKODA CEO Bernhard Maier presented the highlights of the newcomer: its striking design, top Package and numerous technical innovations that will be driving the brand’s first large SUV to customers from early 2017.

The ŠKODA KODIAQ in World Premiere at the 2016 Paris Motor Show

ŠKODA will be attending the 2016 Paris Motor Show with a range as strong as a bear: it is here, that the new ŠKODA KODIAQ will be presented to the public for the first time. With a length of 4.70 m, up to seven seats and the largest boot within its class, the ŠKODA KODIAQ is the Czech car manufacturer’s first large SUV. With the ŠKODA KODIAQ, the Czech car manufacturer is extending its range to seven models and more than 40 variants.

Bitter cold in the far north, scorching heat in the south, and extreme strain on the test stands: before its high-profile world premiere, the ŠKODA KODIAQ mastered a series of extremely challenging tests. The result: the new SUV of the long-established Czech brand is setting the benchmark within its segment with regard to quality and reliability.
