JAGUAR LAND ROVER INGENIUM PETROL ENGINE NAMED TOP 10 IN THE WORLD

Jaguar E-Pace

Jaguar Land Rover’s 250PS 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine has been recognised as one of the 10 Best Engines for 2018 by WardsAuto.

For 2018, a total of 32 new or significantly improved powertrains from a number of automotive manufacturers were tested by WardsAuto’s editors in real-life, on-road driving conditions. This year’s 10 Best Engines were selected based on a range of testing criteria including, but not limited to, maximum power output, fuel economy, noise characteristics and new technology.

The all-aluminium Ingenium 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine delivers performance, efficiency and refinement without compromise. Jaguar’s first compact SUV, the E-PACE, is the latest model to feature the 250PS Ingenium powertrain; accelerating from 0-60mph in as little as 6.6 seconds and delivering fuel economy of up to 36.7 mpg.

Ingenium engine technology was first introduced in 2015 with the 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine. This was followed by the advanced petrol engines entering production in April 2017.

Jaguar E-Pace 01

Available across most of the Jaguar Land Rover line-up, the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine is available in 250PS and 300PS versions.  In addition to the E-PACE, the engines have been well received in vehicles from the Jaguar XE to the Jaguar F-TYPE and from the Land Rover Discovery Sport to the latest Range Rover and Range Rover Sport Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles.

At the heart of the company’s low-emissions strategy, the Ingenium family of engines are in production at Jaguar Land Rover’s £1 billion Engine Manufacturing Centre, Wolverhampton.  Since July 2017 the Ingenium 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine has also been manufactured in the company’s Chinese engine plant for Chery Jaguar Land Rover vehicles sold in China. Designed, engineered and manufactured by Jaguar Land Rover, the engines use a low-friction all-aluminium-intensive design which provides excellent thermal properties and lightweight construction, improving efficiency and enhancing vehicle dynamics over traditional steel designs.

From 2020 every new Jaguar Land Rover vehicle will have the option of electrification and we continue to invest heavily in ultra-clean petrol and diesel engines.

AWARD WINNING JAGUAR F-PACE PAINTED IN A NEW LIGHT

Jaguar F-Pace 00

Jaguar has created a unique film to celebrate the 70 awards won globally by the F-PACE performance SUV.

The practical British-built performance family car counts the World Car of the Year 2017 and World Car Design of the Year 2017 titles among its 70 awards. Jaguar has celebrated this success with a unique film that dramatically captures F-PACE’s acclaimed exterior design and state-of-the-art engineering.

The film, called Blacklight, shows thousands of paint droplets being released simultaneously onto the F-PACE, highlighting its distinctive, sleek profile as they splash onto its bodywork. With the SUV covered in water and paint, giant fans force the mixture to follow the curves. It beautifully highlights the flow of air over the car, creating a stunning piece of automotive art.

Jaguar XE and All-New XF Achieve Five Star Euro NCAP Safety Rating

Jaguar XF R R

The Jaguar XE and all-new Jaguar XF saloons have been awarded the maximum five star rating in Euro NCAP’s 2015 safety tests. XE and XF scored highly in every category – Adult Occupant, Child Occupant, Pedestrian and Safety Assist – and are among the most highly-rated models in their respective segments.

As well as outstanding crash protection, the XE and XF also benefit from a range of active safety systems including Autonomous Emergency Braking (fitted as standard in Europe), which uses a forward-facing stereo camera to detect vehicles which could pose a threat of collision: the system can give the driver visual and audible warnings and automatically apply the brakes if a collision is deemed imminent.

Jaguar XE F

The XE and XF are developed from Jaguar’s Lightweight Aluminium Architecture: the inherently light yet stiff and strong body structures deliver exceptional occupant protection, further enhanced by driver and passenger airbags, side airbags and curtain airbags. In the event of an impact with pedestrians, deployable bonnets help to mitigate serious injuries.

Both models offer a full suite of active safety technologies and advanced driver assistance systems* including Dynamic Stability Control, Traction Control, Emergency Brake Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Monitoring, Closing Vehicle Sensing, Reverse Traffic Detection, Traffic Sign Recognition and Adaptive Cruise Control. Additional features offered in the XF – and which will be offered in the 2017 Model Year XE – include Lane Keep Assist, Driver Condition Monitor and Adaptive Speed Limiter.

The Jaguar XE Gains All-Wheel Drive

 Jaguar XE AWD 01

The Jaguar XE, already established as the most dynamic sports saloon in the mid-size segment, once again sets new standards in driver reward and offers an even wider range of state-of-the art technology.

The XE has received myriad global awards thanks to its unrivalled balance of ride, handling and refinement. The light, stiff, Advanced Aluminium Architecture, sophisticated suspension and powerful, efficient engines make the XE the driver’s car in its class.

With the addition of InControl Touch Pro – Jaguar’s next-generation infotainment system, torque on-demand all-wheel drive, F-TYPE-derived Configurable Dynamics and a wider range of advanced driver assistance systems, the XE delivers an even more compelling drive.

InControl Touch Pro is state-of-the-art and is designed around a tablet-style 10.2-inch touchscreen featuring highly responsive, superb quality graphics. With intelligent navigation that can tell others if you’re running late, a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to eight devices and apps for wearable technology, the XE ensures that you’re always connected.

All-wheel drive (AWD) was engineered into the XE from day one. Available exclusively with the 180PS Ingenium diesel and the 340PS supercharged V6 petrol engines and eight-speed automatic transmissions, AWD enhances vehicle dynamics and provides greater traction. Torque is only transferred to the front wheels when needed, maintaining the XE’s inherent agility and rear-wheel drive character.

Jaguar XE AWD 07

Adaptive Surface Response (AdSR) makes the AWD system even better by changing the mapping of the powertrain and Dynamic Stability Control system according to the conditions. AdSR leverages Jaguar Land Rover’s world-leading expertise in AWD technologies and traction systems.

Together with class-leading chassis design, the unique combination of AWD, AdSR and the revolutionary All Surface Progress Control system gives the driver greater confidence in adverse conditions. The XE is the definitive all-weather sports saloon.

First developed for the F-TYPE, Configurable Dynamics is now offered in the XE and enables the driver to tailor the car’s character by selecting individual settings for the throttle response, transmission shifts and the Adaptive Dynamics continuously-variable damping system.

The XE also benefits from an enhanced range of assistance systems including Lane Keep Assist and Driver Condition Monitor – a feature which can detect and warn against driver fatigue. The XE also offers the Adaptive Speed Limiter: an intelligent technology which can support the driver by increasing or decreasing vehicle speed when speed limits change.
