NEW BMW X4 ON THE WAY TO ITS WORLD PREMIERE AT THE GENEVA

BMW X4

The new BMW X4 demonstrates its strengths in advance of its official presentation at the 88th Geneva International Motor Show undertaking a trip from Munich via Davos to the location of its world premiere in Geneva.

BMW X4 08
All the stations along the premiere tour are designed to emphasise highlights of the new BMW X4. The route first takes it across Flüela Pass. As it navigates the winding roads of this Swiss Alpine pass road at 2,383 metres above sea level, the new BMW X4 can expect to encounter snow depths of more than a metre.

BMW X4 04

In these extreme weather conditions the second generation of the successful BMW model can make full use of its driving dynamics qualities. The BMW xDrive all-wheel drive, which is standard in all models, makes the BMW X4 especially versatile and sporty. The latest edition of the system is characterised by reduced weight and optimised internal efficiency.

In addition, the precise electronic control of the intelligent all-wheel drive ensures especially sporty and brand-typical power distribution. The tightly winding, snow-covered hairpin bends of the Flüela Pass are the ideal setting for the rear-wheel-oriented xDrive all-wheel drive. Dynamic cornering turns piloting the X4 into an intense driving experience in these conditions.

The final station of the premiere tour is Lake Geneva. The shores of Europe’s biggest inland water body against the spectacular backdrop of Mont Blanc are the perfect setting for highlighting the fascinating design of the new BMW X4. The already sporty exterior has a significantly more athletic and mature look in the new model. This is not least due to the increase of approx. 8 cm in the vehicle’s length, the visibly wider track, the clearly defined athletic shoulder and the gentler curve of the roof line. All this makes the new BMW X4 a real eye-catcher in front of this stunning panorama. A few days later, on 8 March, the BMW X4 will be presented at the Geneva International Motor Show on the opening day.

The new BMW X4 will then replace the previously available model, which has developed into a huge success for the brand ever since it was first presented in 2013. Some 200,000 units of this Sports Activity Coupé were sold in less than five years.

BMW 8 SERIES COUPE 2018 : FIRST REAL IMAGES AND TEST-DRIVE

BMW serija 8 05

The BMW 8 Series Coupé will be launched in 2018. A close-to-series prototype is currently undergoing intensive testing on high-speed proving grounds in Aprilia, Italy. The luxury segment sports car combines design and driving dynamics.

The test drives are being carried out with a heavily camouflaged prototype, which nevertheless gives strong indication of the new BMW 8 Series Coupe’s typical sports car proportions. As in the case of the BMW Concept 8 Series, the dynamically stretched lines, the flat silhouette and the powerful front and rear ends give a foretaste of the fascinatingly sporty driving experience.

The high vehicle dynamics potential results from an extraordinary close connection between motorsports and series production. The new BMW 8 Series Coupe is being developed parallel to and in close coordination with the BMW M8 and the BMW M8 GTE racing car.

BMW M3 CS – limited Special Edition

BMW M3 CS 03

BMW is presenting another exclusive, limited-run special-edition model in the shape of the new BMW M3 CS. With its accentuated sporting presence, the new M3 CS continues the decades-long tradition of successful M special editions which began in 1988 with the E30 BMW M3 Evolution. At the same time, the four-door high-performance sedan serves up a perfect blend of dynamism and everyday practicality.

BMW M3 CS

The 3.0-litre high-performance engine exceeds the output of the M3 with Competition Package by 10 horsepower, raising it to 460 hp. State-of-the-art M TwinPower Turbo technology propels the M3 CS from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds. The top speed of the new special edition, which comes as standard with the M Driver’s Package, is electronically limited to 280 km/h (174 mph). With its two mono-scroll turbochargers, charge air cooler, High Precision Injection, VALVETRONIC variable valve timing and Double-VANOS fully variable camshaft timing, the six-cylinder in-line engine takes a clear and consistent aim at the higher echelons of performance, but is equally committed to developing significant torque from low engine speeds and achieving high levels of efficiency (fuel consumption combined: 8.3 l/100 km [34.0 mpg imp]*; CO2 emissions combined: 194 g/km*). Pushing the new red start/stop button fires up the engine, and the distinctive sound produced by the specially tuned sports exhaust system of the new BMW M3 CS – with its quartet of tailpipes – proceeds to lay on a feast for the ears.

BMW M3 CS 01

The new BMW M3 CS is equipped as standard with the seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT) with Drivelogic. This cutting-edge transmission has a separate oil cooler and enables both automated gear changes and manual interventions using the shift paddles on the steering wheel. It changes gears in fractions of a second with no interruption in the flow of power, but employs a long seventh gear to keep revs low and minimise fuel consumption over longer motorway journeys.

The new BMW X2 Digital Camouflage was spotted on the streets of Milan

BMW X2 Digital 01

The new BMW X2 is still far from being ready for its market debut. Nevertheless, the newest Sports Activity Coupé in the BMW X family is beginning to get out and about in its most congenial environment – the urban jungle.

As a matter of fact, it was noted during Fashion Week, which is being held in Milan from 20 to 25 September, wearing an outfit perfect for the occasion. The athletic silhouette of the new BMW X2 was attired in a spectacular camouflage effect, with tones of yellow, gray, and black that highlight its sporty and stylish qualities. The unusual underlying design is based on a digital model and expresses the innovative spirit and the orientation towards the future of the BMW Group.

Therefore it is not surprising that the new BMW X2 wearing Camouflage Digital is at the center of attention in the most characteristic and cool locations in Milan. Anyone who encountered it during its excursion into city life was able to recognize it immediately for its extravagant, contemporary, and sporty design. The outing offered a good opportunity to see first hand the new interpretation of BMW X design aimed at young people who are extroverted and active.

You can follow it on Instagram and Facebook and can try to meet it “in person” and photograph it in the most “in” areas of Milan.
